Rick Bockner

(Contemporary; Blues; Jazz; Singer-Songwriter)

Based in British Columbia, Rick Bockner is a consummate guitarist and composer, writing songs that cross between folk, blues and jazz. On his CD Trouble with the Moon (1995), his material would sound equally at home on a stage in the 30's or 40's. There's an old-time feel to his jazz chord progressions and lyrics that is augmented perfectly on this album by trumpets, clarinets, mandolin, accordion, cello, fiddle, tin whistle, and even bodhran. If you enjoy swing-style music with strong roots elements, this album is a highly recommended.
