Toronto-based singer-songwriter David Bradstreet has been a working musician and composer since 1968. He has toured with Laura Nyro, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Supertramp, Todd Rundgren, Pablo Cruise, Joan Armatrading, John Prine, Harry Chapin and others, as well as his own concert, club and festival appearances throughout Canada, the US and Europe. He has four vocal albums to his credit: David Bradstreet (1976), Dreaming in Colour (1977), Black & White (1980), and most recently, Renaissance (1998). He has also released three albums of musical composition: Whispering Woods (1997), Natural Stress Relief (1998) and Natural Sleep Inducement (1998) for the Solitudes label, inspired by the nature recordings of Dan Gibson. Bradstreet received a Juno Award for Best New Male Vocalist in 1977.
His latest recording, Renaissance, includes a new recording of the title song, "Renaissance," which has previously been recorded by Valdy. With tasteful pop arrangements, the album, produced by Bradstreet, features an excellent cast of supporting musicians, including Carl Keesee, bass; Al Cross, drums; Oliver Schroer, fiddle; and Billie Hughes, Rebecca Campbell and Jane Siberry on vocals.
