Don Bray is a singer-songwriter/guitarist from Barrie, Ontario. Influenced by musicians such as Bruce Cockburn, Leo Kottke and James Taylor, he has forged a style with elements of folk, blues and country. Decisions (1998) displays Bray's mature songwriting, catchy guitar licks and expressive vocals. Nicely varied from the punchy opener, "Too Much and Not Enough," through reflective songs such as "Lonely's Lonely," the album is well paced and interesting, with an impressive cast of backup musicians. An attention-getting debut CD. Produced by Keith Mariash and Don Bray, additional musicians include Mark Mariash, drums; Paul Vienneau, bass; Todd Lumley, piano; Darren Scott, fiddle; and Willow Rutherford and Jennifer Atkinson on backup vocals.
