Based in Whitby, Ontario, Brookfield is a band made up of friends and members of the Brooks family. Founded by Fred and Joy Brooks, Brookfield includes Jeff Brackett, Caroline Brooks, and Katherine Brooks.

Brookfield's debut CD, Medicine Lands is a collection of thirteen songs written by Fred Brooks. The main vocalists are Fred and Joy Brooks, backed up by daughters Caroline and Katherine. With lyrical material ranging from reminiscences to observations about the rain forests ("Medicine Lands"), the arrangements are a contemporary weaving of acoustic and electric guitars into a easy-listening musical tapestry.
