Jacquelyn Brown

(Contemporary; Celtic; Harp; Singer-Songwriter)

On Awakening ... The Breath of Life, harpist and singer Jacquelyn Brown, from London, Ontario, credits Loreena McKennitt as the person "whose music first called my Celtic heart to ancient dreams of plucking harp strings." Brown has proven an apt student of the harp--her sensitive playing and songwriting explore the lyrical, poetic side of the Celtic spectrum. The album is meditative and gentle. Most of the songs are originals written by Brown, with the exception of the traditional "Bonny Love" and a Liona Boyd composition, "Days of Love and Innocence."
