Cobbler's Apron is a "neighbourhood" band--one of those groups in which the members all have day jobs and get together to play together at local events. Based in Tiverton, Ontario, the band was formed by a group of local musicians. That some of the founding members are originally from Scotland accounts for the title of their debut album, Highland Spirit. They cover a broad spectrum of pub favourites and do so with good voices, good arrangements, decent instrumentation, and a high sense of fun. Although they have not written any original material, they're the kind of group you'd enjoy seeing at a nearby performance. Familiar music enjoyable performed.
