Bill Craig

(Contemporary)

Toronto-based folksinger Bill Craig is a veteran performer and recording artist. During the 70's and 80's Craig was a member of Foggy Duo with his good friend Don Garbutt. Foggy Duo released two LP's: Foggy Duo (1978) and Out of the Mist (1980). Under the name Skyboat the duo released a third LP, Ship in Distress (1981), on the British Plantlife label.

Craig's first solo album was the LP On the Left (1988), followed by the cassette release Late Nights (1995). Craig's first CD release, High Mountain Range (1996), features his fine, resonant baritone voice and excellent playing on a tasteful collection of covers plus two Craig originals, "What Do You Do in This Town" and the keyboard instrumental "Cool Breeze." The songs range from Allan Taylor to Jackson Browne to Stan Rogers. This simple, lightly produced, album provides comfortable listening.

Additional artists on High Mountain Range include Don Garbutt, piano and Steve Sherman, bass.
