Crooked Stovepipe

(Bluegrass)

Crooked Stovepipe, a bluegrass band from Newfoundland, takes its name from a popular old fiddle tune. Formed in 1973, the band has released its first CD, Newfoundland Bluegrass, featuring songs that have been popular in that province, including "There's No Price Tag on the Doors of Newfoundland." Stan Rogers fans will enjoy hearing the bluegrass version of "Moonshine Can," which Rogers recorded on his For the Family album.

The band members on this recording include founder Neil Rosenberg on banjo, Ted Rowe on guitar and lead vocals, Don Randell on fiddle, Scott Swinden on mandolin, and Jim Rillie on bass.
