A member of the Wakami Wailers, a group specializing in historical Canadian logging songs, Mark Despault steps out with a solo recording of his own material on Natural Revelation. His work with the natural environment comes through on several of the cuts. The imagery of his music is primarily water, sky, nature. Despault's ten original songs on this CD are highlighted by excellent arrangements and instrumental work, though the tracks are, arguably, a bit overproduced in places.

Produced by Andy Thompson and Mark Despault, additional musicians on Natural Revelation include Frigo Zepletal, mandolin, guitar; Hugh Marsh, fiddle; Kieran Overs and Dan Washburn, drums; Alex Dean, sax, flute; and Andy Thompson, keyboards, accordion.
