Our Labrador is extraordinary for its ordinariness. Few albums today have the ingenuousness of the old-style country songs in this collection--songs that celebrate, in simple words with simple chord progressions, a disappearing lifestyle in which settlers, innu, and inuit all relied heavily on the land as a means of subsistence. These songs, sung in English, Innu-Aimun, and Inuktitut, are a treasure.
