A Taste of Atlantic Canada: the Music of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, produced by Brian Doherty, of Evans & Doherty, is a Maritimes collection that works better than many similar anthologies. the difference is that the album contains some of the better works of some of the better Maritime performers. With the exception of the energetic fiddle set by Natalie MacMaster, however, the recording is a bit too middle-of-the-road and subdued. A little more energy would have made it a better CD.
